Did you know that by buying an "A" rated appliance you could save £'s every year off your fuel bill?

Fridges and Freezers

The difference between a "G" rated fridge freezer (which is probably what you have if your fridge is more than 5 years old) and a new "A" fridge freezer could be as much as £45 per year.

Washing machines

Make sure you buy an "A" rated Energy Saving Recommended washing machine next time you change yours. Not only do you save 34kg of carbon dioxide each year but new washing machines also use much less water than old ones.

Did you know that washing your clothes at 30 degrees saves 40% electricity compared to a 40 degree wash and modern detergents work just as effectively at lower temperatures.

Dishwashers

New Energy Saving Recommended dishwashers save about 40% electricity and much less water than older ones. Remember to always have a full load when you're using the dishwasher. Replacing your old dishwasher will save you approximately 70kg of carbon dioxide

Televisions

Cumbria will be the first area to switch off analogue television. When you buy a new television getting an integrated digital television saves energy because the digital function is included in the television saving on wasteful set top boxes.
